Who we are
COEXR TECHNOLOGIES, Nigeria, is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. It covers coexr.com and the COEXR app, which helps people discover, join, and host nearby workouts. Contact us about privacy at support@coexr.com.
Information we process
- Account and profile: email address, account identifiers, sign-in verification and session records, display name, profile photo, phone number, and profile details such as gender, date of birth, and the address or area you provide. Available fields and required setup steps are shown in the app.
- Location: your chosen area, searched places, meeting addresses and coordinates, and device location when you grant permission and use location features.
- Workouts and preferences: activities you are interested in, discovery radius, sessions you create or join, withdrawals, participant acknowledgements, and workout descriptions and media you submit.
- Notifications and support: device notification tokens and preferences, service messages, and information you include when contacting us.
- Technical information: requests to our services can include IP address, browser or device information, timestamps, and error or security records needed to deliver and protect the service.
Do not include medical records or other sensitive information in public session descriptions or photos. Only upload information and images you have permission to share.
Why we use it
We use account, profile, location, and workout information to provide the features you request: signing in, finding nearby sessions, managing participation, hosting, and receiving service updates. This processing supports our agreement with you.
We rely on consent where required for optional device permissions and other optional processing. You can withdraw consent for future processing, although the related feature may stop working. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before it.
We may process limited technical and support information for legitimate interests in securing the service, investigating abuse, resolving problems, and maintaining reliability, balanced against your rights. We also process information where necessary to meet a legal obligation. We do not treat acceptance of our terms as consent to unrelated marketing.
What other people can see
COEXR is a social workout service. Your display name, profile photo, hosted session details, and participation information can appear to other users in the relevant workout views. Public discovery shows a workout’s approximate area. Exact meeting details are available to the host and active participants after joining.
A host can choose to share their phone number with active participants for a session. That setting is off by default. Gender is not displayed on your public profile. Your device’s current location is used for nearby discovery; it is not a public live location feed.
People who can view information may remember, copy, or share it outside COEXR. Choose meeting places and the information you post with this in mind.
Service providers and disclosures
Running COEXR involves providers for hosting, databases, media storage and delivery, email, notifications, and location search or maps. They process the information needed for their role. Location searches may be sent to Google’s location services, and opening directions in another app is also subject to that provider’s privacy policy.
We may disclose relevant information when legally required, to respond to a valid legal request, or to protect people and investigate misuse. If the business is reorganised or transferred, personal information may form part of that transaction, subject to applicable protections and notice requirements.
Where providers process information outside Nigeria, applicable data protection requirements govern the transfer. You can contact us for information about the providers, processing locations, and transfer protections relevant to your data.
Cookies and device storage
The landing page stores your light or dark theme choice in your browser until you clear it or change it. It does not include advertising trackers or an analytics script. The illustrated map on the landing page is decorative and does not request your location.
The app uses session storage to keep you signed in. Its web version uses authentication cookies and browser storage; native versions use device storage for credentials and preferences. You can clear browser data or sign out, but clearing session data will require you to sign in again.
Retention and account deletion
Account information is used while your account is active. Retention also depends on the information’s purpose, security and dispute needs, legal obligations, and backup arrangements. Contact us for the retention details applicable to a particular record.
You can request an email verification code and delete your account through the app’s account settings. The current deletion flow disables the account, revokes sessions, cancels unfinished hosted workouts, and releases unfinished joined places.
Account deletion does not immediately erase every stored record. Account and related records are archived, and completed workout history and previous display names can remain. Private profile information, a deleted host’s phone number, and exact meeting coordinates are excluded from workout details for deleted hosts. Contact us to request erasure of retained personal information; any lawful retention exceptions will be explained.
Your rights and choices
Subject to applicable law and its exceptions, you may request access to your information, correction, erasure, restriction of processing, or a portable copy. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw consent where processing relies on it. You also have protections relating to decisions based solely on automated processing that significantly affect you.
Send requests to support@coexr.com, preferably from your account email. We may ask for proportionate verification before acting to protect your information. We will handle requests within applicable legal time limits and explain any restrictions.
You can edit available profile and activity preferences in the app, control notification and location permissions in device settings, and use the session’s host phone-sharing setting. Denying location access can limit location-based features.
You can raise a concern with us or complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission, and to another competent authority where applicable. You do not have to contact us before approaching a regulator.
Keeping information safe
COEXR uses access controls and session protections to limit unauthorised access. No service or device can guarantee complete security. Keep your email account and device secure, never share sign-in codes, and contact support if you suspect someone has accessed your account.
Children’s information
Where use of the service or processing a child’s information requires a parent or guardian’s authorisation under applicable law, that authorisation is required. Do not provide a child’s information without the necessary authority. If you believe a child’s information has been submitted without the required authorisation, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date above. Material changes will be brought to your attention as required by law, and we will request consent where a change requires it.
